Whether you’re drawn to spiritual journeys or eager to explore wildlife, the Golden Chariot offers an experience tailored for every traveler. South India’s diverse states each boast unique cultures, with distinct regional subcultures rich in history. Choose from three captivating itineraries, each unfolding a different story and showcasing the region’s heritage.
The train’s guest carriages are named after the great dynasties that shaped South India’s history. Each carriage features four elegant cabins, offering a mix of twin and double beds. In total, there are 13 double-bed cabins, 30 twin-bed cabins (M.E. Vid), and one specially-abled cabin designed for accessibility.
Dine in style at the two onboard restaurants, Ruchi and Nalapaka, serving exquisite international cuisines alongside a variety of authentic Indian dishes. For drinks, Madira bar offers a curated selection of fine wines, beers, and spirits.
Relax and rejuvenate at Arogya, the spa and fitness center, where traditional Ayurvedic therapies blend seamlessly with modern workout facilities.

Arrive at Yeshwantpur Railway Station at 8:30 am and proceed for welcome ceremony and check-in formalities.
Shortly depart for Mysuru. Lunch is served onboard. Then visit to Mysore Palace. Dinner onboard as train proceeds to Mahabalipuram.
Enjoy a relaxed breakfast onboard as train arrives at Chengalpattu Railway Station. Late morning, optional excursion to Kanchipuram. Following lunch onboard; prepare to visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Shore Temple, in Mahabalipuram. Next up is dinner at an beach front hotel. Then return back to the Golden Chariot train.
Have breakfast onboard & at 9am, disembark to visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site – Brihadeshwara Temple. Lunch served onboard as the train proceeds to Chettinad. Disembark again in the evening for a visit to the Athnagudi tile factory, followed by a visit to the Chettinadu mansions. Dinner served onboard as the train departs
Have breakfast onboard as the Golden Chariot train arrives at Cochin Harbour Terminus. Then make your way for an excursion to Mattancherry Palace in Fort Cochin area; after which witness some of the kept dance forms of Kerala at an exlusive venue. Return to the train for lunch. Optional excursion to Chinese Finish Nets & St. Francis Church. Dinner onboard as train proceeds to Kumrakom.
After onboard breakfast, proceed for a houseboat cruise on the Kumarakom backwaters. This is followed by lunch at an exclusive menu. Then, return to the train as it departs. Dinner is served on board.
Breakfast served on-board. Train arrives back in the morning. Say goodbye as your journey comes to an end.
This tour has an age range of 12-70 years old, this means children under the age of 12 will not be eligible to participate in this tour. However, if you are over 70 years please contact us as you may be eligible to join the tour if you fill out G Adventures self-assessment form.
